What people ask before they start.

01What does it cost?

Every engagement is scoped and quoted as a single fixed price. No hourly billing, no per-seat licensing, and no new charge when you add people to a tool you already run. The quote comes out of the Consult, once the scope is real enough to price honestly.

02How long does it take?

Four weeks to a working tool is a realistic target. Trellis, the curriculum builder Danbury Public Schools runs today, went from first conversation to teachers writing in it in four weeks.

03Why not just buy something off the shelf?

Because the tool that fits your work usually does not exist yet. Off-the-shelf software asks your people to change how they work so the software makes sense. Custos runs the other direction: the build starts from how the work is already done, in the room with the people doing it, and the tool bends to them. That fit is the whole product.

04Are we locked in?

Never, and it is written into the agreement rather than promised in a meeting. Your instance is licensed to you perpetually, so it keeps running whether or not Custos is still in the picture. Your data exports whenever you ask for it. Leaving never needs our permission.

05Do you charge per seat?

No, and that is the point. Per-seat pricing charges you more every time the tool succeeds and more people start using it. Custos charges for the build. Roll it out to five people or five hundred and the number does not move.

06Who owns what you build?

You own your instance, your data, and everything your people author in it, on a perpetual license. Custos keeps the reusable engine underneath, which is what lets the next district start from something already proven instead of paying to build it a second time.

07What happens when the engagement ends?

You pick between two paths. Your own team runs the tool, which is what Train exists to make possible. Or Custos keeps it running under a hosting and warranty agreement. You can move between them later, in either direction.

08How is student data handled?

Under a data privacy agreement scoped to your district. The terms get written for how your district actually works instead of pulled from a template, and they are settled before anything is built.

09Do you work remotely?

Delivery happens in the room. What ships matches the work as it is actually done, because it was built next to the people who do it.

10Who does the work?
